Head-to-head

Pricing

What a tool really costs once you add envelope limits, per-user fees and annual commitments.

Questions to ask any vendor before you switch

Can signers sign without creating an account? What evidence do I get when a document completes, and can a third party verify it? Can I export my signed documents and certificates if I leave? What exactly happens to my price if my volume doubles? A vendor that answers these clearly is usually a safe choice, whichever one it is.

How to choose an e-signature tool

Start with what you actually send. Count documents per month, how many people send them, who signs, and whether you need integrations with other software. Most small businesses and freelancers send a modest number of fairly standard documents, and the right tool for them looks very different from the right tool for a bank.

Then look at the total cost. Check whether prices are per user, per envelope or both, whether key features like templates or reminders sit on a higher tier, and what happens when you exceed a quota. Annual billing discounts often hide the real monthly price of flexibility.

Our comparison methodology

We compare published features and prices from each vendor's own website, list sources on every comparison, and date each page so you know how current it is. Where we could not verify something, we say so rather than guess. Prices and plans change often, so always confirm on the vendor's site before buying.

We compare like for like: the plan a small team would realistically choose, not an enterprise tier against our cheapest plan. We focus on what affects daily use: how fast you can send a document, what signers experience, what evidence you get at the end, and how much it really costs.

When competitors are the better choice

We are an early-access product, and honesty is more useful to you than a sales pitch. If you need deep integrations with Salesforce or other enterprise systems, a mature API today, qualified electronic signatures in the EU, advanced identity verification, complex conditional workflows or formal compliance attestations for regulated industries, an established provider such as DocuSign or Adobe Acrobat Sign is likely a better fit right now.

Every comparison page includes a section on where the other tool wins. If one of those points matters to you, take it seriously.

Where we think eSignSimple wins

For individuals and small teams who send PDFs for signature and want a clear record at the end, we think simplicity and price win. Paid plans are unlimited, signers never need an account, and every document gets an audit trail, a certificate of completion and a SHA-256 fingerprint anyone can check on our public verify page.

Our pricing is published and short: Free for 3 documents a month, Bronze at $4.99 a month for 25 documents, Silver at $9.99 a month for unlimited documents, and Gold at $19.99 a month.

Frequently asked questions

What is the best DocuSign alternative?

It depends on your needs. For individuals and small teams sending standard documents, simpler and cheaper tools are often enough. For enterprise integrations or QES, established providers may be better.

How do you keep comparisons accurate?

We use vendors' own published information, cite sources and date every page. Always confirm current pricing on the vendor's site.

Is a cheaper e-signature tool less legally valid?

Not inherently. Legal validity depends on the type of signature and the evidence recorded, not the price. Check that a tool provides an audit trail and certificate of completion.
