A Lumin Sign alternative with signing order and an API on a $9.99 plan
Lumin Sign, from the makers of the Lumin PDF editor, has a free plan with 5 documents per workspace a month and a Pro plan at $18 per user per month with 100 documents, reminders, a certificate of completion and unlimited signing templates; its API is on Enterprise. Lumin's FAQ says documents go to all signers at the same time, with signing order still to come, and up to 20 people per send. eSignSimple has signing order on every plan, unlimited documents on Silver at $9.99/month, and an API from Silver. If you already edit PDFs in Lumin and Google Drive, Lumin Sign is the natural add-on.
Lumin started as a PDF editor that works closely with Google Drive, and it has grown into a set of products: Lumin PDF, AgreementGen for drafting agreements with AI, and Lumin Sign for e-signatures. Lumin Sign is priced separately under the Lumin Agreements plans, and signers don't need an account: they get an email link and sign inside Lumin Sign.
The plans are simple. Free includes legally compliant e-signatures, fillable fields and multiple signers for 5 documents per workspace a month. Pro adds status tracking, automated email reminders, due dates, priority support, a certificate of completion and unlimited signing templates, with 100 documents per workspace a month that you can scale up. Enterprise adds the Lumin Sign API and a dedicated success manager. Lumin's FAQ says multi-user plans are arranged through sales for now.
eSignSimple is a standalone signing tool. You upload a PDF or Word file, place fields, choose a signing order if you need one, and send. Every completed document gets an audit trail and a certificate of completion with a SHA-256 hash, including on the free plan. We don't edit PDFs; if that is your main need, Lumin PDF is the better product.

Why do people switch to eSignSimple?
Signing order today
Lumin's FAQ says all signers receive the document at once, with ordered signing groups still to come. eSignSimple lets you set a signing order on every plan, for contracts where a manager or the client must sign first.
Unlimited documents for less
Lumin Sign Pro is $18 per user per month for 100 documents per workspace. eSignSimple Silver is $9.99/month with no document cap, and Bronze is $4.99 for 25. See pricing.
API and bulk send without an Enterprise deal
Our REST API and webhooks, bulk send to up to 200 people and web forms all come with Silver. Lumin puts its signing API on Enterprise.
A certificate on the free plan
Every eSignSimple document, free or paid, gets an audit trail and a certificate of completion. Lumin lists the certificate on Pro.

Our take
Lumin is a good PDF editor, and Lumin Sign is a clean, simple add-on for people who already work there. The free plan's 5 documents a month is generous for occasional use.
For sending contracts as a business, two gaps matter: no signing order yet, and the API only on Enterprise. eSignSimple covers both for $9.99/month. For other options, see our best DocuSign alternatives and our DocHub alternative page for another PDF-editor-plus-signing tool.
We compare published features and prices from each vendor's own website and list the sources above. Where we could not verify something, we say so. Lumin Sign is a trademark of its owner; eSignSimple is not affiliated with it. See how we protect documents on our security page and what each plan includes on pricing.
