E-signatures without the enterprise overhead.

Most e-signature tools are built for procurement departments. We are building eSignSimple for everyone else: freelancers, landlords, small agencies and growing teams who need a contract signed today, not a sales call next week.

What we believe

  • Pricing should be readable in five seconds, with no envelope counting.
  • Signers should never need an account.
  • Every signature should come with evidence you can show in a dispute.

Want the details before you trust us with a contract? Our security page explains encryption, the audit trail and document fingerprints; the privacy policy and terms of service say exactly what we do with your data; and developers can start with the REST API docs.

Why eSignSimple exists

eSignSimple is built by a small independent team who got tired of how complicated it had become to get a simple agreement signed. The big e-signature platforms are impressive pieces of software, but they are designed for companies with legal departments, admin consoles and annual contracts. If you are a freelancer sending a two-page agreement, you do not need any of that. You need the other person to sign, and you need to be able to prove they did.

The alternative most people fall back on is worse: print, sign, scan, email, or paste an image of a signature into a PDF and hope nobody questions it. That works until the day someone does. We wanted something in between: as quick as pasting an image, with the kind of evidence you would want if a deal ever went sideways.

What we believe

Evidence beats decoration. A signature is only useful if you can show who made it and that the document did not change afterwards. That is why every plan, including Free, gets the full audit trail, certificate of completion and SHA-256 fingerprint, and why anyone can check a file on our public verify page.

Privacy by default. If a job can be done in your browser, it should be. Our Fill PDF tool and signature generator process your file in the browser instead of uploading it, and documents we do store are encrypted at rest. Sign-in runs through Google, either your Google account or an email and password handled by Google's Firebase Authentication, so we never hold a password database.

Honest pricing. Plans you can understand in five seconds, with unlimited documents from Silver up and one flat price for a team of up to 5 on Gold. Signers are always free.

Plain language. We write our product, our help pages and our policies so a non-lawyer can read them. Where a legal nuance matters, we say so rather than bury it.

Who it is for

Freelancers and consultants sending statements of work and contracts. Landlords and small property managers handling leases and renewals. Agencies, studios and small teams who want shared templates so everyone sends the same approved wording. Anyone who has ever had a client say “can you just send me something to sign?” and wished that took thirty seconds instead of thirty minutes.

It is probably not for you if you need qualified electronic signatures for regulated EU use cases, government ID verification of every signer or deep enterprise integrations today. We would rather tell you that now than have you find out after a migration.

What we will not do

We will not sell your data or train anything on your documents. We will not invent reviews, customer counts or certifications to look bigger than we are. We will not hide the cancel button, and we will not make signers create an account to sign. We will not pretend a simple electronic signature is something it is not; for most everyday agreements it is enough, and for some documents it is not, and our legality guides say which.

We will also not grow for the sake of growing. Every feature we add has to earn its place by making it faster to get a document signed or stronger to prove it was. If a feature mostly serves a sales deck, it can wait.

Who builds eSignSimple?

eSignSimple was founded by Buğra Sözeri, who builds the product and writes and maintains the guides, glossary and legality pages on this site. When you see his name at the top of a guide, it means he wrote it, checked the product steps against the current app, and researched any legal statements against the official texts linked on that page. He is not a lawyer, and nothing on this site is legal advice; where the law varies or is unsettled, the pages say so.

We are deliberately small. That has trade-offs we will not hide: there is no phone line, no account manager and no 24/7 support desk. It also has advantages. The person who reads your bug report can usually see the code that caused it, a confusing sentence in a guide gets rewritten the same week someone points it out, and nobody has to escalate a sensible feature request through four layers of product management.

How do we decide what to build next?

Every idea gets the same two questions: does it make it faster to get a real document signed, and does it make the result easier to prove? Signing order, reminders, templates, bulk send, web forms, Word upload and the public verify page all passed that test. A long list of integrations, a drag-and-drop workflow designer and a contract-management suite have not, at least not yet, because they mostly serve larger organisations that already have good options.

We also keep an honest public list of what is missing. Today eSignSimple does not offer SMS or ID verification of signers, embedded signing inside your own website, SDKs, a sandbox, single sign-on, an admin console or teams larger than 5 senders. Native iOS and Android apps are coming soon. If one of those is a hard requirement for you, the comparison pages are a fair place to find a tool that has it today.

How eSignSimple makes money

Subscriptions, and nothing else. The Free plan is paid for by people on Bronze, Silver and Gold, and the free tools are there because they are useful and because they let you try the product without risk. We do not run ads inside the app, we do not sell data, and we do not have a second business model hiding behind the first one. If you ever wonder why a feature exists, the answer should be that it helps someone sign or send a document.

That model shapes our decisions in ways you can check. Pricing is published in full on the pricing page, with no "contact sales" tier. You can cancel from your account settings without talking to anyone, and your plan runs to the end of the period you paid for. We do not refund partial periods, and we say so up front rather than in the small print.

What happens to your documents if you leave?

You are never locked in. Every completed document is an ordinary PDF with the certificate of completion added as its last page, so the evidence lives inside the file you download, not only in our database. Download the signed PDFs you need, keep them with the rest of your records, and they remain readable in any PDF viewer for as long as you keep them.

When you are ready, you can delete individual documents or your entire account from settings. Deletion is permanent, which is the point: if you ask us to forget something, we should actually forget it. If you are moving to another tool, our guide to verifying an electronic signature explains what the certificate page proves and how to check it later.

Frequently asked questions

Who is behind eSignSimple?

eSignSimple was founded by Buğra Sözeri, who builds the product and writes its guides. It is a small, independent product funded by subscriptions, not a division of a larger e-signature company.

Is eSignSimple a law firm?

No. We build signing software and explain how it works in plain language. Our legality pages summarise the law with links to official sources, but for advice on a specific contract, talk to a lawyer where you live.

Will eSignSimple still be around next year?

Nobody can promise that about any company, which is why we make sure you never depend on us to prove a signature. The signed PDF includes its own certificate page, and you can download every document you sent at any time.

How can I suggest a change to a guide or report a mistake?

Email hello@esignsimple.com with the page address and what you think is wrong. Corrections to legal pages are checked against the official source linked on the page, and the page's review date is updated when we change it.
