Adobe Acrobat Sign vs PandaDoc: which should you choose?
Choose Adobe Acrobat Sign if you work with PDFs all day: signing comes with Acrobat Standard at US$14.99/month on an annual plan, and Acrobat Pro (US$19.99) adds templates, web forms and bulk sending. Choose PandaDoc if you create proposals and quotes and want them in your CRM: Starter is $19/month billed annually, Business $49/seat/month.
Adobe and PandaDoc both bundle e-signatures into a bigger product. With Adobe, the bigger product is Acrobat, the PDF editor. With PandaDoc, it is a document builder for sales teams. Which one fits depends on whether your documents start life as PDFs or as proposals.
Adobe sells signing inside Acrobat. Acrobat Standard is US$14.99/month on an annual plan billed monthly (US$24.99 month to month) and lets you request and track signatures. Acrobat Pro (US$19.99) adds web forms, reusable templates, bulk sending and your logo on agreements; Pro for teams is US$23.99 per license. Acrobat Sign also offers SMS, KBA and government ID signer authentication for business accounts; Adobe does not list these on its individual plans. See our Adobe Sign alternative page.
PandaDoc has a free plan with 5 documents a month, Starter at $19/month and Business at $49 per seat/month billed annually. Paid plans include unlimited documents created in the app. Business adds custom branding, CRM integrations, payments and approvals, plus SMS, KBA and ID verification; bulk send, web forms and the API use paid usage credits. See our PandaDoc alternative page.
If all you do is send finished PDFs or Word files for signature, eSignSimple is a simpler third option: a free plan with 3 documents a month, Bronze at $4.99/month and unlimited documents on Silver at $9.99/month. Its column is included for reference.

Which one should you choose?
- Adobe: one subscription covers PDF editing, conversion, forms and signing in software most offices already use.
- Adobe: a very long integration list (Microsoft 365, Salesforce, Workday, SAP SuccessFactors and more) and enterprise identity checks.
- PandaDoc: a sales document builder with pricing tables, quotes, deal rooms and approval workflows.
- PandaDoc: a free plan with 5 documents a month and unlimited documents on paid plans.
- Both: native mobile apps and team administration, which eSignSimple does not offer yet.

Consider eSignSimple if…
you need neither a PDF editor nor a proposal builder. Silver is $9.99/month with unlimited documents, templates, web forms and bulk send; no identity checks or integrations.
Who should pick which?
| Consider eSignSimple if… | Pick Adobe Acrobat Sign or PandaDoc if… |
|---|---|
| Your contracts are finished PDFs or Word files. | Adobe: Acrobat users and Microsoft-centric companies. |
| You want unlimited documents for $9.99/month. | PandaDoc: sales teams sending proposals and quotes. |
| You don't need PDF editing, proposals or ID checks. | Either: teams that need identity checks or SSO. |
How do you move to either tool?
- Check whether your company already pays for Acrobat; signing may be included.
- Decide where documents start: as PDFs (Adobe) or built from templates and pricing tables (PandaDoc).
- Price the extras: Adobe's templates and bulk send need Pro; PandaDoc's bulk send, forms and API use usage credits.
- Export signed documents and audit trails before cancelling.
- Rebuild templates and run one real document through the new tool.
Our take
For PDF-heavy offices, Acrobat Pro is good value because signing, templates and bulk sending come with the editor. For sales teams, PandaDoc's proposal tools and CRM sync are the point, and Acrobat cannot replace them.
If you only need signatures on finished documents, eSignSimple is far cheaper than either and still gives you an audit trail. Compare more in best DocuSign alternatives.
