A OneSpan Sign alternative for small businesses
OneSpan Sign is an enterprise e-signature platform aimed at banks, insurers and government. Its official plans page now lists a single Enterprise plan with volume-based pricing (contact sales), plus paid add-ons such as SMS notifications from US$0.40 per transaction and identity verification from US$2.50 per check. eSignSimple offers only simple electronic signatures, but with published prices: free for 3 documents a month and unlimited documents for $9.99/month. If you need strong signer authentication, SDKs or FedRAMP, OneSpan is the better fit.
OneSpan is a security company best known for authentication products used by banks. OneSpan Sign, its e-signature platform, is built for high-volume customer agreements: loan files, insurance policies, account openings and government forms. Its plans page offers one Enterprise plan, sold either as a fixed number of transactions or as a usage band, with the price agreed with sales. A 30-day free trial is advertised on the product page, and developers get a free, watermarked sandbox with no time limit.
The feature list is long and serious: SSO login and SSO signer authentication, knowledge-based and Q&A authentication, government ID and biometric verification with liveness detection, government smart cards, FIDO passkeys, embedded signing, white labeling, a REST API with SDKs for .NET, Java, Apex, iOS and Android, and OneSpan Notary. OneSpan says the product supports simple, advanced and qualified signatures; qualified ones rely on certificates from partner trust service providers.
eSignSimple is a far smaller tool for freelancers and small teams. You upload a PDF or Word file, place fields, and send it to signers who need no account. Every completed document gets an audit trail and a certificate of completion with a SHA-256 hash. We offer simple electronic signatures only, with no SMS codes, ID checks, SSO or SDKs. For most everyday contracts in the US, UK and EU, that is enough; see our United States guide.

Where is OneSpan Sign the better choice?
- Strong signer authentication: KBA, government ID and biometric checks, smart cards and FIDO passkeys. We have none of these.
- Advanced and qualified signatures through partner trust service providers, for EU processes that need them.
- Enterprise plumbing: SSO, embedded signing, white labeling and SDKs for five platforms, plus a free sandbox for developers.
- Compliance claims that procurement teams ask for, including SOC 2 Type II, ISO 27001, FedRAMP and HIPAA. We hold no certifications.
- Built for very high volumes of automated agreements, with pricing that falls per transaction as volume grows.
- Remote online notarization through OneSpan Notary.
Why do people switch to eSignSimple?
A price you can see before you call
OneSpan sells Enterprise through sales. Our plans are on the pricing page: $0 for 3 documents a month, $4.99/month for 25, $9.99/month for unlimited documents, and $19.99/month for up to 5 senders.
Start today, not after procurement
Sign in with Google, upload a PDF or Word file, place fields and send. There is no onboarding project, no transaction band to estimate and no add-on to configure.
Enough for everyday contracts
Service agreements, NDAs, quotes and HR forms rarely need ID checks. A simple electronic signature with an audit trail is valid evidence for them under ESIGN, UETA and eIDAS.
Templates, bulk send and a plain API
Reusable templates on every plan; bulk send to up to 200 people, web forms, a REST API and webhooks from Silver.

Our take
OneSpan Sign is serious enterprise software, and for a bank opening accounts remotely or an insurer that must prove who signed, it does things we do not try to do. If you need ID checks, see our note on signer authentication.
For a small business, an enterprise transaction contract is more than the job needs. eSignSimple gets everyday contracts signed with an audit trail for a few dollars a month. If you want a mid-market tool with more authentication options than ours, also compare DocuSign and Adobe Acrobat Sign.
We compare published features and prices from each vendor's own website and list the sources above. Where we could not verify something, we say so. OneSpan Sign is a trademark of its owner; eSignSimple is not affiliated with it. See how we protect documents on our security page and what each plan includes on pricing.
