Are electronic signatures legally binding?
Yes. In the United States (ESIGN Act and UETA), the European Union (eIDAS), the United Kingdom and most other countries, an electronic signature is legally valid for most business documents. A few documents, such as wills or some property transfers, still need a handwritten or qualified signature. See our eSignature legality guides for details by country.
Do my signers need an account?
No. Signers get an email with a secure link and sign in their browser on any phone, tablet or computer.
What proof do I get that a document was signed?
Every signed document comes with a certificate of completion: who signed, when, from which IP address and device, plus a SHA-256 hash of the final file so any later change is detectable.
