Yes. In the United States (ESIGN Act and UETA), the European Union (eIDAS), the United Kingdom and most other countries, an electronic signature is legally valid for most business documents. No. Signers get an email with a secure link and sign in their browser on any phone, tablet or computer.

Every signed document comes with a certificate of completion: who signed, when, from which IP address and device, and the SHA-256 fingerprint of the original document. We also record a SHA-256 hash of the final signed file, which anyone can check on our verify page, so any later change is detectable.

Sign up free with Google, upload the .docx or .doc, and we convert it to PDF on our server. Drag a signature and date field onto the page, then either sign it yourself or add signers and send. The signed file comes back as a PDF with a certificate of completion.

Yes. eSignSimple accepts .docx, .doc, .odt and .rtf as well as PDF, up to 25 MB. You do not need Word installed or to export a PDF first.

Yes. Senders sign up free with Google in a couple of clicks, or with an email address and password; there is no card for the Free plan. The people you send documents to never need an account.

The sending part takes a minute or two: upload, drag a signature and date field for each person, type their names and emails, send. How long the signing takes depends on your signers, not on us. In practice, people who expect the document often sign within minutes of the email arriving, because they can do it on their phone without creating an account. If someone has not signed, paid plans send automatic reminders every 3 days, up to 3 times, and you can see in the dashboard exactly who has opened and who has signed.

When the last person signs, we stamp every signature, initial and date into the PDF, add a certificate of completion as the final page, and calculate a SHA-256 fingerprint of the finished file. Everyone involved receives the signed PDF by email, and it stays in your account until you delete it. If anyone ever questions the file, they can drop it onto the public verify page to check it is exactly the version that was completed.

Yes. By default everyone receives their link at the same time, which is fastest. Turn on signing order when it matters who goes first, for example an employee before a manager countersigns, or a tenant before the landlord: the next person only gets their email once the previous one has signed. A signer can decline and give a reason, and you are notified so you can follow up. If you spot a mistake after sending, void the document: the signing links stop working, signers are told it was withdrawn, and you can upload the corrected version and send it again. Once everyone has signed, the document is final and cannot be edited; a change means a new document, which is what keeps the signed one trustworthy.

Start on Free and send a real document; 3 a month is enough to see whether it fits. If you send up to 25 documents a month, Bronze ($4.99/month) covers it and adds automatic reminders. If you send more, or want bulk send, web forms or the API, Silver ($9.99/month) has no document limit. Yes. Save a document as a template once, with its fields assigned to roles such as "Client" and "Contractor", and next time you only type the names and email addresses. Templates are included on every plan, Free too. On Gold, templates can be shared with your team, so everyone sends the same approved wording. If you do not have a contract yet, start from one of our free templates, such as the NDA or the service agreement.

We provide simple electronic signatures backed by an audit trail, which is what most everyday agreements need. We do not offer qualified or advanced signatures, SMS codes or ID checks for signers, embedded signing inside your own website, or teams larger than 5 senders, and our native iOS and Android apps are coming soon.
