eSignatures.com, formerly eSignatures.io, charges $0.49 per contract with no monthly fee and every feature included, dropping to as little as $0.20 with large prepaid credit packs; SMS costs $0.09 and live photo ID checks $2.99. It no longer sends static PDFs: you convert PDF, Word or Markdown into mobile-friendly templates. eSignSimple charges a flat price instead (25 documents for $4.99/month, unlimited for $9.99) and sends your PDF as it is. eSignatures.com is an e-signature service built around templates and an API. The old esignatures.io address now redirects to esignatures.com. Its pitch is simple: pay per contract, with no subscription, and get unlimited templates and users, the API, webhooks, Zapier and Make, contract links, embedded signing, WordPress signing, SMS contracts, bulk send, custom branding, multi-factor signer identification and a choice of data centers. Credits never expire, and there is a 40% discount for non-profits.
The biggest difference is how documents are built. eSignatures.com says it deliberately avoids PDFs for signing: contracts are responsive templates that reflow on a phone, and its getting-started page says it no longer supports sending static PDFs. You can convert a PDF, Word or Markdown file into a template and tweak it. The signed result is delivered as a single PDF with the full signature record. It provides simple electronic signatures, not advanced or qualified ones, and has a test mode where demo contracts don't use credits.
eSignSimple works the other way round: you upload the exact PDF (or a Word file we convert to PDF), place fields on the page and send. What the signer sees is your document, page for page. Each completed document gets an audit trail and a certificate of completion with a SHA-256 hash, and our price is flat per month rather than per contract.
