How to Cancel a DocuSign Subscription

DocuSign subscriptions renew automatically. Depending on your plan and how you bought it, you may be able to cancel from your account settings, or you may need to contact DocuSign.

Step by step

  1. Download your documents. Before cancelling, download any completed envelopes and their certificates of completion that you need to keep.
  2. Log in as the account administrator. Sign in to DocuSign on the web as an account administrator.
  3. Open plan and billing settings. Select Admin in the top navigation bar, then Plan and Billing under Account.
  4. Turn off renewal or cancel. Select Manage Subscription > Cancel subscription, review the details and select Confirm Cancellation. Your account downgrades to a free plan at the end of the subscription term.
  5. Contact DocuSign if there is no option. Plans bought through the iOS or Android app are cancelled through the App Store or Google Play, and some legacy or sales-managed plans work differently. See DocuSign support if your screen does not match.
  6. Keep the confirmation. Save any cancellation email or reference number, and check that no further charges appear.

Check your renewal date

DocuSign says a newly purchased plan cancelled within 30 days may be eligible for a refund, while month-to-month plans are not. Check DocuSign's current refund policy for your plan.

Will I lose my documents after cancelling?

Cancelling downgrades you to a free account at the end of the term rather than closing it, but it is still wise to download everything you need first.

Can I get a refund?

DocuSign's policy allows refund requests for new purchases cancelled within 30 days; month-to-month plans are not eligible. Check the current policy.

Can I cancel a free trial?

Trials generally end on their own unless you entered payment details and upgraded. Check your account's plan page.
