How to Sign a PDF on Android

Android does not have one built-in PDF signing tool that works the same on every phone, so the most reliable options are the free Adobe Acrobat Reader app or a browser-based tool.

Step by step

  1. Install Adobe Acrobat Reader. Download Adobe Acrobat Reader from the Google Play Store. Adobe has retired its separate Fill & Sign app, and its form-filling and signing features now live in Acrobat Reader.
  2. Open the PDF. Open the PDF from your Downloads, email or Drive and choose Acrobat Reader when asked which app to use.
  3. Choose Fill & Sign. Look for the fill and sign tools in the bottom menu. Menu labels change between app versions, so follow the Signature option if the layout looks different.
  4. Create a signature. Select Signature > Add signature. Draw your signature, use an image, or capture one with the camera, then tap Done.
  5. Place and save. Tap where the signature should go, adjust its size, then save. Share the signed file from the app.

Phone-maker tools

Some manufacturers include their own PDF or notes apps with drawing tools, for example Samsung Notes on Galaxy devices. These can work, but options vary by model and software version, which is why Acrobat Reader or a browser tool is the easier general answer.

A browser-based option
